Artist Statement

INSPIRATION AND BEAUTY ARE EVERYWHERE

I am fascinated with nature and the serenity in rural life. The sweeping landscapes, with their rolling hills and pastoral farms, offer tranquil settings to capture. I see cows grazing, corn and oat fields, a variety of cloud formations and idyllic lakes. I feel compelled to express my surroundings, capturing en plein air and back in my studio.

About Deborah

Deborah Dougherty Wester is a painter and Cazenovia resident. She paints primarily in oils and has been a working artist for 30 years. She has been honing her skills through classes, workshops and apprenticeship, perhaps more self-taught than formed.

She is a member of the Cazenovia Artisans, Cazenovia Watercolor Society and the Mountain Air Painters.
